This print is of a recent painting by renowned railway artist Mike Turner G.R.A, member of the Railway Artists Guild and is offered with the artist’s kind permission. 

 

The painting from left to right. 

The view is from Ebury Bridge with the Kent lines on the left, as West Country class 'Barnstaple' departs from Victoria station with a boat train for Dover, while the 4 CEP unit arrives from Ramsgate. In the depot are class 71, EPB & 4 CEP unit, while a class 33 diesal is about to cross the Grosvenor Bridge in the distance.

 

To the right, on the Brighton lines, a 4 SUB is approaching from the south London suburbs while the Brighton Belle (5 Belle) sneaks up behind on the far track, on the approach to Victoria station. 

 

Battersea power station dominates the background, along with the giant gas holder and the Victorian water pumping station on the right (north side of the River Thames). 

 

Painted in 2024/water colour & gouache. 

 

Print size is 38.3cm x 27.1cm on A3 (42.0cm x 29.7cm) high quality 175gsm paper.
