An excuse to go for a drink...…...…..

Members of the Friends have just launched a new project, with a legitimate excuse to go down the pub! The traditional British pub is in decline, and we're losing a link between railways and pubs. 'The Railway' is the sixth most common pub name in Britain, and we aim to capture the beautiful pub signs before they disappear. Members around the country are trying to find all railway-related pubs and send in the signs so that we can compile a library. Non-members are also encouraged to help us and email photos of the sign, together with a few details of where the pub is located, to .

NB. unfortunately, our funds do not extend to reimbursing the funding of any drinks bought in connection with this project!
