No 70013 Oliver Cromwell

On Saturday 8 November Oliver Cromwell was temporally renamed The Territorial Army 1908-2008 and renumbered 70048 at Quorn station on the Great Central Railway. The ceremony was performed by HRH The Duke of Gloucester and was the final event in the celebrations to mark 100 years of the TA. The locomotive will operate on the GCR in this guise until the end of the year.

Note the different names on the right and left sides.
Class A1 No 60163

Tornado, in workshop grey and without nameplates, was on view on the Great Hall turntable on Thursday 23 October. The locomotive is to be painted at the NRM at the end of November.
Flying Scotsman nameplates
A limited run of 80 special nameplates, cast from original Flying
Scotsman metal removed from the locomotive's old firebox, will be made to
mark the 80th anniversary of the first non-stop 'Flying Scotsman' service from
London to Edinburgh. The high quality plates come with a polished finish and are
mounted on a solid oak back board. They are accompanied by a certificate,
guaranteeing that they are cast entirely in authentic Flying Scotsman
metal.
The Museum's profits from the sale of the nameplates will be donated to the
'Keep Scotsman Steaming Appeal' to support the restoration of the locomotive.
The nameplates will be made to order and retail at £1995. Please visit
